In Hammond, a new take on the ‘mayor’s night out’ format… in fact, to attend the next Hammond mayor’s night out event you won’t even have to brave the bitter cold that’s enveloped the Region this week. Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. “Facebook Live Night Out” starts this Thursday (January 4th), 5 to 6 pm at the “What’s Going On in Hammond” Facebook group. Viewers will be able to ask questions in real time in this first ever “Social Media Mayors Night Out” opportunity which he says if popular, could become a regular occurrence. Meanwhile, the schedule for the traditional Mayor’s Night Out event at locations around the city is posted at the City of Hammond website. The first one is January 24th at Edison Elementary.
