Audubon Christmas Bird Count at Indiana Dunes National Park

Region residents are invited to get outside and have fun helping with the 121st Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Volunteers are needed for the Indiana Dunes National Park “West Circle” count on Saturday, December 26th, 2021. The 15-mile radius circle encompasses most of the northern part of Lake County, and park officials say counts from home bird feeders within the circle are also needed. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, volunteers are urged to work individually or in small groups from the same household. Details can be found at the Audubon website: www.audubon.org/conservation/science/christmas-bird-count . All participants must sign up beforehand through the count compiler, Christine Gerlach – there’s more information on the Indiana Dunes National Park count and a phone number to sign up at this link.
