Dangerous Cold Across the Region, State

Dangerously cold temperature readings across the Region and the outlook says more lake effect snow for LaPorte County… The National Weather Service Northern Indiana says wind chills expected from 20 to 35 below zero will cause exposed skin to freeze in 10 minutes or less. Wind chill warnings are in effect for most of northwest Indiana and wind chill advisories continue that include Lake and Porter counties. Wind chill warnings and advisories are also in effect across the state. Temperatures of as low as -12 are being seen this morning locally with wind chills approaching nearly 30-below.  There’s also a Winter Weather Advisory that’s been issued for Wednesday through Thursday that includes LaPorte County for more lake effect snow with total snow accumulations of 3-to-5 inches expected with localized amounts up to 8 inches by Thursday evening.
