Elevated Fire Danger Due to Gusty Winds and Dry Conditions

The National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook says southerly winds will gust up to 30 miles an hour and combined with dry conditions there will be an elevated to briefly near critical fire danger today. Wind gusts of 40 to 45 miles an hour are expected Thursday, and meteorologists say there will be an increased risk for the rapid spread of brush fires.
