The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) reminds Hoosiers that the Rental Assistance Portal will be available beginning today Monday, July 13 for renters struggling due to COVID-19. Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch says the portal can help connect Hoosiers outside of Marion County to programs that can help cover monthly rent payments or past due rent in order to avoid eviction. In June, Governor Eric Holcomb announced 25-million dollars in relief available through this program. Individuals seeking rental assistance living in Marion County should visit www.indyrent.org . The application to apply for this program also opens on Monday, July 13th. Other funding sources include the Emergency Solutions Grant to help struggling Indiana renters. Hoosiers who are homeless, or in a housing crisis can call 2-1-1 and ask for assistance. Homeowners can also seek assistance through the state.
