Police Seek Public’s Help in Homicide Investigation

In Gary, police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a man’s death. A news release from the Gary Police Department says at about 1:50 pm officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 42-hundred block of Monroe Street and observed what appeared to be blood inside.  Officers traveled to the 36-hundred block of Johnson Street to do a welfare check on the owner and upon arrival, authorities say, found the front door ajar, and a man found inside a bedroom was declared dead at the scene.  The Lake County Coroners office says the 56-year-old man suffered trauma and his death was ruled a homicide.  Gary Police urge anyone with information on this incident to contact Detective Corporal James Bond of the Lake County/Gary Metro Homicide Unit to 219-755-3855 or the Crime Tip Line at 866-CRIME-GP.
