Indiana State Police reports the following statewide Silver Alert remains in effect for a missing Valparaiso man.
The Valparaiso Police Department is investigating the disappearance of an adult from Valparaiso, Indiana. Valparaiso, Indiana is 151 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
Donald Gildersleeve is an 59 year old white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 220 pounds, brown hair, and green eyes.
He was last seen Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Valparaiso, Indiana and is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

The Valparaiso Police Department reports police were called to the 2100 block of Valparaiso Street early Sunday morning for a male subject that was missing. A news release from the Valparaiso Police Department states Porter Starke Service’s personnel called police when Gildersleeve did not return home. Authorities say he was last seen at the Porter Starke Offices on Wall Street at 10am on Saturday December 30th. Police say Gildersleeve maintains his own residence with assistance/care from Porter Starke Services and requires daily medications. Gildersleeve is believed to be on foot or on a bicycle and is described as a white male, 6’0’’/ 210 lbs with brown hair,blue eyes and a beard. Police and Porter Starke personnel have searched nearby businesses and other locations with negative results, police said, and he has been entered into the state’s computer system as a missing person.
Police are seeking assistance from the public to help locate Donald Gildersleeve and anyone who sees him or believes they may possibly have observed him recently is urged to contact the Valparaiso Police Department by dialing 911 or text a tip to TIP411 (847-411) and enter “Valpo” as the first word in the message field prior to sending the tip.
