South Shore Extends Michigan City-South Bend Busing Due to Cold

The operators of the South Shore Line have announced that due to continued extreme cold temperatures and snow, the commuter line is extending its busing of all train passengers between South Bend and Michigan City into Thursday, January 4, ending after westbound Train 18’s arrival at Carroll Avenue Station. Service is tentatively expected to resume normal operations on Thursday with eastbound Train 9.
Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) also said Hudson Lake stops will continue to be suspended during this time, and Trains 401, 422 and 424 (between Carroll Avenue and South Bend) will be canceled. “The South Shore Line is working to minimize the impact caused by the severe weather, but some delays are possible,” the advisory from the South Shore Line said.  “Please check for the latest travel information.”
