Community Invited to Valparaiso Memorial Day Observance Friday

The City of Valparaiso, the Valpo Parks Department and Valpo Parks Foundation encourage families, friends, and individuals to remember those who have served and given the ultimate sacrifice at this year’s Memorial Day observance at the Service Memorial at Foundation Meadows on Friday, May 24 at 8:00 AM.

Tradition continues as the ceremony includes posting the colors of the United States of America, words of welcome and gratitude from Mayor Jon Costas, and recitation of the community member names on the Duty and Sacrifice monument. Valparaiso Police Department Officer and Director of Technology and US Army Reserves and National Guard Veteran Phil Rochon, will offer his reflections of what Memorial Day means to him. All are invited to this ceremony.
