Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuinness Wednesday announced 218 Indiana cities, towns, and counties received a combined $101-point-9 million in state matching funds for local road projects through Community Crossings, part of the Governor’s Next Level Roads program. In Northwest Indiana, the list includes Burns Harbor, Cedar Lake, Crown Point, Dune Acres, Dyer, Griffith, Hammond, Hobart, LaPorte, Lake Station, Merrillville, Michigan City, Munster, New Chicago, North Judson, Porter and Schererville, and Lake, LaPorte, Jasper and Starke counties. McGuinness says Community Crossings is one of the most important tools available to support efforts to improve local roads and bridges. The next call for projects opens this January (2022).
