Region Sports Personality Mark Smith Passes Away

A familiar name to those who follow high school sports in the Region has passed away. Mark Smith of Crown Point, who’s written about and broadcasted from numerous prep sports events over the decades, passed away earlier this month at the age of 67 following a battle with cancer. An obituary notice says a memorial visitation is set for Tuesday November 30th at Burns Funeral Home in Crown Point. Additionally, in lieu of flowers, the obituary said donations can be made to the Mark Smith Memorial Fund at GoFundMe.
