Leaves are falling later this year, so the Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County has extended by an additional week the Boone Grove and Portage compost sites, which will both close effective December 11th for the winter. The Valparaiso Compost Site will remain open, weather permitting, through March of 2022 for the winter season. Valparaiso Compost Site Winter hours are Monday-Saturday 8am-4pm CT.
