Goodwill’s Centers for Career Connections are offering the NorthStar Digital Literacy Project Basic Computer Skills Certification. In the training you will complete numerous tasks that will be assessed online through self-guided modules. Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in the areas of Basic Computer Use, Internet Basics, Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with email, social media and Information Literacy. We offer Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum level certificates upon demonstrating competency and passing each level.
Resource Fair

Goodwill’s Center for Career Connections will work in collaboration with the Gary Excel Center to host a Resource Fair. The Resource Fair will include colleges, training providers, resources and employers to fill various positions. There will be computers available for individuals to sign up for assistance, apply to college, locate child care, and complete job applications. Also, if you do not have a high school diploma, this will be a time to meet a life coach and get started.
Minority Contractors Collaboration Construction Training Informational Session
• Thursday, December 9th / 10:00 am to 11:00 am
Patricia Thornton with Minority Contractors Collaboration will host an Informational Session to educate individuals about the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Construction Training. In this session, Patricia will outline the training details, importance of the training, how to receive funding as well as career options once the training is complete. Individuals will also have the opportunity to register for training after the session.
Google IT Support Professional Informational Session

Discover a career in information technology through a no-cost certificate program developed by Google and hosted on Coursera. With virtual courses, hands-on labs and more, the Google IT Support Professional Certificate program is designed to prepare you to start a career in IT support. In this informational session you will learn what the certification consists of as well as how to get started.

Google Suite Workshop

NorthStar Digital Literacy Training

In this training, you will perform various tasks that will be assessed online through self-guided modules. In this workshop, we will teach you how to introduce yourself to a new professional contact, how to give an elevator pitch (and why it’s important), how to properly share your business card / contact information, and much more.
Interviewing 101
