Record Warmth and High Winds in the Region

Windy and mild conditions continue across northwest Indiana with record-breaking warmth observed Wednesday. The National Weather Service says it was 62 at the Porter County Regional Airport in Valparaiso, a new daily record for December 15th. It was 63 at Porter-Indiana Dunes and 64 in Gary. A High Wind Warning continues this morning, with gusts up to 55-60 mph possible. The National Weather Service says peak wind gusts from 8pm last night thru 4am today include 61 miles per hour near Hammond and in Munster, and 58 mph at Remington.
