Arctic air has moved into the Region, following a New Year’s Day winter storm. Very icy conditions were being reported this morning. The National Weather Service says preliminary reports of snowfall in Northwest Indiana January first include at least four inches in Cedar Lake and Lake Station, about three inches near Valparaiso, St. John, Chesterton, Ogden Dunes and DeMotte, two at Roselawn, just a little over one inch at Lakes of the Four Seasons, and one inch at Morocco. Temperatures fell overnight and continued to fall this morning to about 6-degrees. Even colder low temperatures are expected later this week.
