The Indiana DNR will hold a public meeting Tuesday March 1st to discuss upcoming renovations on J.C. Murphey Lake at Willow Slough (SLOO) Fish & Wildlife Area. The meeting will be held at 6:30pm at the Newton County Government Center in Morocco. The DNR says periodic renovations are required at the lake to maintain habitat for the maximum number of species, and for improved experiences for hunters, anglers and wildlife viewers. DNR officials will provide details on the project and and answer questions from the public. The renovations are expected to be completed sometime in 2024.
