Indiana District 5 Senator, Ed Charbonneau says district communities will receive more than four-point-five million dollars to through Indiana’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program. The funds will be earmarked for various road and bridge projects. Community Crossings was established in 2016 and has awarded more than one billion dollars in matching state funds for local construction projects. Porter and Jasper Counties, along with the city of Valparaiso, received the highest single-allocation total of one-million dollars. Starke County was awarded nearly seven-hundred-fifty-thousand dollars, while Hebron, Medaryville, Wanatah and Winamac received between four-hundred-forty-thousand and one-hundred-eighteen-thousand dollars.
