The National Weather Service Chicago office says there will be an elevated fire danger in the Region today. A Special Weather Statement issued this morning says warm, dry and breezy conditions are in the forecast with relative humidities dropping to about mid 20-percent combined with near 30-mile-per-hour wind gusts, resulting in an increased threat of wildfire/brush fire spread.
