IDEM Issues Air Quality Action Day

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has issued an Air Quality Action Day and is forecasting high ozone levels Friday, June 24, 2022 across Northwest Indiana. An Air Quality Action Day will also be in effect in Indianapolis and Central Indiana, North Central Indiana including South Bend and West Central Indiana including Lafayette. IDEM says several things can help like driving less, not letting your engine idle in a drive-thru, avoiding refueling your vehicle or using gasoline-powered lawn equipment until after 7 p.m., and conserving energy by turning off lights and setting the thermostat to 75 degrees or above.
