In Schererville, a precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for areas of town. Officials say on June 28th at about 3pm a water break occurred near Joliet Street and Forest Ridge Drive. A news release from Schererville says affected areas include those located north of Joliet Street and East of Calhoun Street, and also Forest Ridge Drive from Joliet Street to 75th Avenue including Quail Court. Officials say water used for human and animal consumption should be brought to a hard boil for 5 minutes before using as a precautionary measure.
