In Valparaiso, plans are coming together for this year’s National Night Out. The Valparaiso Police Department is inviting community members and neighborhood groups to be part of this national celebration that brings communities and police together. The festivities begin at 6 pm August 2nd as officers will again be visiting neighborhoods; activities and events in prior years have included games, ice cream socials, cook outs, and small block style parties. Members of the department will include K9, Bike Patrol, Support Staff, Patrol Division, and Investigations.

Valparaiso Police Chief Jeff Balon says National Night Out has always been a great success and they look forward to meeting with the community and being a part of all the planned events in the neighborhoods. This will be the 18th year of participation for the Valparaiso Police Department.
