In Crown Point, the Lake County Corn Dogs clinched a playoff spot this week at their home field with a 10-4 win over the Chicago American Giants. The Corn Dogs are now 29-and-10 after Tuesday’s game. A post at their Facebook page says Wednesday night’s game at Legacy Fields against the Crestwood Panthers was canceled due to rain and more information will be posted about rescheduled dates when it becomes available. The team noted that the Corn Dogs in their inaugural season became the first team to clinch a playoff spot in the Northern League this year. The Corn Dogs take on the Southland Vikings in Hammond tonight Thursday July 28 and will be back in Crown Point this Saturday July 30 to face the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. Tickets can be purchased online at https://corndogsbaseball.com/tickets/ or at the gate.
