In Porter County, local corporations recently partnered with a Region non-profit to break new ground on breaking ground. Opportunity Enterprises is building a new Lakeside Respite Center at Lake Eliza bordering Lake and Porter Counties and wanted to give OE clients a chance to be part of the construction process as Excavator For A Day. That came true last week thanks to sponsorships provided by NIPSCO, Steel Cities Steels, Centier Bank, CAMACO, Berglund Construction and Doug Robinson. Opportunity Enterprises also wanted to thank subcontractors R.V. Sutton that provided the excavating equipment. The center will provide respite care, temporary relief for families and caregivers.
