In Valparaiso, the city will host an informative open house to share plans for the new sports and recreation campus being developed on Valpo’s east side. The city parks team will share plans with residents and what to expect over the next 12 to 18 months. Part of the “All Generations Initiative”, the plan calls for upgrades to legacy parks, an Adult Center for Enrichment and a Next Generation Skate Park. The open house is 6 to 7:30 pm Wednesday, October 12 at the Urschel Pavilion in downtown Valparaiso. Additional opportunities to view plans for the Sports and Recreation Campus in person will be on October 13 at the 4 pm Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission Meeting at City Hall, October 24 at the 6 pm Valparaiso City Council meeting (City Hall) and October 25 at the 6 pm Valpo Park Board meeting, 1155 Sheffield Drive.
