We had a substantial rainfall earlier this week, but the Region remains dry. The latest USDA Drought Monitor now shows more than half of the state in Moderate Drought and expanding in Northwest Indiana. The remainder of the state is considered Abnormally Dry. The area of Moderate Drought extends from the Region to the southeast diagonally to the Indiana/Ohio state line and also across the southern third of the state.
