Indiana Weather History: November 1992 Tornadoes

A tornado outbreak in the Hoosier state thirty years ago this week. In Indiana weather history, on November 22, 1992, the National Weather Service says fifteen tornadoes occurred across Indiana, none in the Region. Meteorologists says the tornadoes formed between 2 and 6 pm Eastern time and were confirmed in the central and eastern portion of the state, destroying dozens of buildings. The weather service says the Indiana tornadoes were part of a system that produced more than ninety tornadoes in the United States that weekend. The National Weather Service Indianapolis also sent out a tweet saying it’s a “good example of how tornadoes are not limited to the spring months”.
