In Crown Point, drivers have two new places to charge their electric vehicles. In late 2022, the city unveiled one charging station in the parking lot of the Crown Point Police Department and the other near the maintenance shop at the Crown Point Sportsplex. Both level two electric vehicle (EV) chargers are 40 amps and offer two charging ports. “I am excited the City of Crown Point is joining other municipalities in Northwest Indiana by offering electric vehicle charging stations,” said Crown Point Mayor Pete Land. “These two charging stations offer visitors an opportunity to recharge while enjoying all the amenities our city has to offer.” Drive Clean Indiana Executive Director Carl Lisek says the installation of the two stations is the product of another successful partnership through the Northern Indiana Green Fleet Program.
