The National Weather Service says at least three rare February tornadoes have been confirmed in the Chicago forecast area so far during severe storms on Monday February 27 – one each in the Joliet/Plainfield and Naperville areas, both EF-0, and another in Ford County near the small town of Clarence, EF-unknown as emergency management has identified no damage with the tornado. Meteorologists say it marks the first February tornado for the National Weather Service Chicago forecast area since February 28, 2017. Tornado warnings were also issued for areas of Northwest Indiana including Porter, LaPorte, and Jasper counties Monday morning.
