In Porter County, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says State Road 49 is closed for about two weeks between County Road East 900 South and County Road East 1050 South for approximately two weeks for a bridge overlay project over Pleasant Township Ditch near Kouts. The closure started earlier this week. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The official detour follows State Road 8, U.S. 421, and State Road 10.
