In Crown Point, public safety officials are hosting a First Responders Twilight Bike Ride this weekend. The ride begins at 7 pm with check-in starting at 6 pm at the Summit Street Trailhead of the Erie Lackawanna Trail Saturday night, September 9, 2023. The ride is free and registration is not required. The event will feature Crown Point Police, Crown Point Fire Rescue, and the Crown Point Emergency Management Agency. Community partners Loopy Cases and Trek will be on site with free handouts for attendees.
“We had a great turnout for our first twilight ride earlier this summer. It was a great way for our officers to connect with the community,” said Crown Point Police Chief Ryan Patrick. “We
hope the community can join us for another successful event.” The Crown Point Police Department has eight members in its bicycle division, who will patrol the bike trail, Patrick noted.
“Having our public safety officials out on the bike trail is a great way for our first responders to connect with residents. We received great feedback from the first twilight ride this summer and look forward to making this an annual tradition,” said Crown Point Mayor Pete Land.
