In Valparaiso, in partnership with the Porter County Public Library System, the Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County will host its second Fix-It Fair at the Valparaiso Public Library branch on Jefferson Street Saturday, September 23, 2023. Attendees must arrive before 12 noon to receive repair. In efforts to promote reuse, the event invites the community to get items repaired at no cost, the district said. Volunteers and professionals provide repair while educating attendees on how to make their own restorations. Services are available for a variety of repairs such as simple sewing repair, jewelry, small appliances, computer and electronic, clocks, small furniture assembly/repair, and glasses.
