Shirley Heinze Land Trust announces its 2024 Spring Benefit Fundraiser, ‘Branching into New Waters’. “Did you know that if you took just the named waterways in the northern six counties of Northwest Indiana and placed them end to end, they would stretch from Valparaiso all the way to San Francisco? The water resources of Northwest Indiana are critical to its ecological health, and preserving and restoring them is a key element of the Shirley Heinze Land Trust mission,” a news release from the nonprofit said. The fundraising event will be held at the Urschel Pavilion in Valparaiso on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 5:30pm – 10pm Central Time. Here is a link for more details on the event.
“The theme of this year’s Spring Benefit,” says Executive Director, Kris Krouse, “is ‘Branching into New Waters.’ We are very excited to use the event to showcase our work supporting the waterways and water quality of Northwest Indiana. We invite Northwest Indiana residents to learn and engage with us and help advance our water quality initiatives. We will celebrate with our partner organizations, sponsors, volunteers, students, and friends.”
Dale and Nancy Nichols, Leslie Shad and Joseph Brennan, Mary Ann Tittle, Anne and Tim Walsh, and Corporate sponsors–Cleveland-Cliffs and NIPSCO–committed to match all pre-event donations up to $100,000 to support the mission of Shirley Heinze Land Trust, the announcement said.
