In Crown Point, Mayor Pete Land will deliver his annual State of the City address Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Franciscan Health Pavilion at Bulldog Park on South West Street. The Mayor’s Office says city departments, local businesses, and community stakeholders will gather for a night of networking, awards, and announcements during the event, which will run from 5:30-9 pm. Mayor Land will provide a recap of last year and highlight development ahead in 2024.
In addition, several Crown Point businesses and community members will be honored during the evening with special awards. The awards include business longevity, which recognizes Crown Point businesses that have been in business for 30-plus years in 2023; youth community achievement, which honors two Crown Point High School students who have exceeded community service requirements; and excellence in development, which highlights a local developer for his or her contributions to the advancement of the city of Crown Point, a news release from the city said.
Businesses with more than 30 years in operation as of 2023 can submit an application for a business longevity award; the deadline is Friday, May 3, 2024. For tickets and sponsorship, the deadline to register is Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
