In Ogden Dunes, Indiana Audubon has announced the lakeside community has officially received the designation of being a Bird Town Indiana community. This certification, bestowed by Indiana Audubon, recognizes the town’s dedication to bird-friendly measures and the preservation of critical habitats, a news release said. Indiana Audubon’s Bird Town Indiana program, founded in 2013, was modeled after the Tree City U.S.A. program. The official designation ceremony will be held this month at Polliwog Pond in Ogden Dunes coinciding with the Indiana Dunes Birding Festival being held that same weekend.
