In Indianapolis, fire crews rescued six newborn ducklings from a city monument Wednesday. The Indianapolis Fire Department said on X they were asked to assist after a duck and her babies “went into the pools at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument” and the ducklings got swept into a drain. The fire department said they were rescued and the family was reunited near their nest; fire officials say they were just born the day before in one of the flowerpots on Monument Circle.
