In Merrillville, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is advising Region motorists of ramp closures beginning on or after Sunday, September 22, 2024 for concrete pavement restoration on U.S. 30 at the Interstate 65 interchange. The work between Mississippi and Rhode Island streets will be done in three phases, each starting Sunday night at about 8 pm and ending the following Friday morning around 5 am. Lane and ramp closures will reopen for the weekend before the next phase starts. INDOT says travelers should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and significant delays during peak times as work continues through mid-October.
