In Lake County, Powers Health recently announced renovations were complete at a medical-surgical unit at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago. A news release says the $3.2 million investment into 5 West includes the implementation of Philips IntelliVue telemetry technology which allows continuous cardiac observation of patients. Additionally, they said all patient rooms and restrooms on the unit were fully renovated, as were public restrooms, offices, and the staff lounge.
