In Illinois, PAWS Chicago is caring for more than 20 rescue dogs relocated by Hurricane Helene. Twenty-one canines arrived at the shelter Thursday, October 10, 2024, from Tennessee after floods ravaged the area from Helene. PAWS volunteers returned from a 24-hour round trip to deliver supplies and bring back dogs living in the shelter before the storm hit. PAWS Chicago is seeking foster parents for the animals.
