In northern Porter County, U.S. 12 under the State Road 249 bridge is set to be closed for about two weeks. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says the U.S. 12 closure from on or after Monday November 11, 2024, is for bridge demolition as work occurs between the on and off ramps at the interchange. Officials say the original bridge is being rebuilt after a second newly-built bridge into Ports of Indiana-Burns Harbor recently opened.
