In Lake County, Crown Point High School’s student-led newscast, CPTV News QuickCUT, received its third consecutive National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences award during the 9th annual National Student Production Awards ceremony. Faculty adviser Chris Gloff credited the students’ creativity and determination, noting that during the pandemic, “discussions shifted to finding new ways to communicate news, which led to the creation of QuickCUT.” A news release said the awards spotlight the work of high school journalists, selecting national winners from a pool of regional champions.
