The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County and the Art Barn come together for a workshop on making valentines out of recycled and upcycled materials. “Using various containers, papers, and other materials that might otherwise end up in the landfill, we’ll use some holiday magic to transform our trash into sweet valentine treasures, from valentine cards to candy wrapper purses,” the District said. The workshop is Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Art Barn School of Art on N 400 E in Valparaiso from 1-4pm. Ages 5 and up (with a parent – register for the total number of people, including children and adults) are welcome. Hot and cold beverages and sweet treats will be available during the workshop as well. All materials and supplies will be provided. Here’s a link for details. Spots are limited. It’s $15 for the first person registered in a group and $5 for each additional person in the group.
