Porter County Compost Sites Re-Opening 2025

The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County has announced the Boone Grove and Portage Compost sites reopen for the season on Monday, March 17, 2025. The Portage and Boone Grove Compost Sites will open for the 2025 season March 17 with regular hours of 8am-4pm. The Valparaiso Compost Site will extend its operating hours to 8am-5pm beginning March 17, 2025. The district says the three sites provide a place where residents can pick up nutrient-rich compost for home gardening; plus, they also have dedicated containers for drop-off of certain items including electronics.
