A winter storm will impact Northwest Indiana today. Region News Team Meteorologist Matt Wintz says it starts with rain before heavy wet snow starts to fall, possibly two to three inches per hour, with possible accumulations of two to eight inches. Temperatures are back in the 40s Saturday and Sunday, then in the mid to upper 50s, possibly even low 60s, on Monday, but cooler temperatures will follow. Here’s a link to the National Weather Service Chicago website. Schools across the Region have announced E-Learning today, early dismissal times and closures due to the Winter Storm Warning. We have those listed along with other weather closures and announcements at Region Cancellations here at our website.
