Portage Parks Turning Bottlecaps Into Benches

In Portage, the Parks Department is turning bottle caps into benches. Acceptable bottle caps include those from milk jugs, pop bottles, detergent jugs, toothpaste and ointment tubes, peanut butter and mayonnaise jars, butter and frosting lids and others with recycle numbers 2, 4 or 5 and are 8-inches wide or less. The bottle caps, which must be cleaned, can be dropped off at the parks office on Willowcreek Road in Portage from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
