The Superintendent of the Indiana State Police, Doug Carter, recognized Sergeant Doug Parcel for achieving 30 years of service to the department and the citizens of Indiana. Parcel is a native of Pulaski County, Indiana, Parcel graduated from the 50th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in December 1993 and was assigned to the Lowell District where he patrolled Newton and Jasper Counties. In 2000, Parcel was promoted to corporal and served as a district duty officer for the Lowell Post. In 2008, Parcel was promoted to sergeant and currently serves in that position as a district squad leader. During Sergeant Parcel’s 30-year career, he has served as a grenadier on the Tactical Intervention Platoon. He has also been a Crash Reconstructionist, Field Training Officer, First Responder/First Aid Instructor and an Unarmed Response to an Active Shooter Incident Instructor.
Three Indiana State Troopers assigned to the Lowell Post have been recognized for 25 years of service with the department. Sergeant Dan Leslie, Master Trooper Martin Benner, and Master Trooper Detective Brian McCall all graduated from the 56th Indiana State Police Academy in December 1998. Each Trooper received an award as well as a longevity pin to wear on their uniform. Lieutenant Terry Gose, Commander of the Lowell Post, would like to personally congratulate these three troopers for their dedicated service to the citizens of Indiana and for reaching the milestone of 25 years of service with the Indiana State Police.
