In Lake County, Purdue Extension says they have a way to get walking with some virtual encouragement. The free GetWalkIN’ program steps off in early April and now’s the time to sign up. Purdue Extension-Lake County Health and Human Sciences Educator Linda Curley says during the course of the program participants receive e-mails that were developed to encourage you to continue to walk as you continue on through several weeks of programming. She said many of the e-mails you receive will address barriers and obstacles, for instance, and letters of support. Here is a link for more information on the program and registration. Those interested are asked to sign up by the end of March; the program begins April 4, 2022. For questions or more information, call Curley at the Lake County Purdue Extension office in Crown Point at 219-755-3240.
