Schererville Kennedy Avenue Expansion Project

In Schererville, a presentation this week on the proposed reconstruction of Kennedy Avenue from US 30 to Main Street. Widening Kennedy Avenue has been talked about for a number of years, and this project would extend it to US 30, and add a bridge over Norfolk Southern and Canadian National rail crossings. Town officials say the work would also improve drainage. Turn lanes would be added to US 30 and Main Street, and the project would move ahead in four phases with an estimated timeline of 2024 to 2026.
