In Valparaiso, a popular bikeshare program is back after a 2 year hiatus sparked by the pandemic. The city has partnered with Tandem Mobility to re-launch the rental program which includes 36 bikes and will be available between the city’s 11 stations for members to use for on-demand, local trips. Kevin Nuppnau, Assistant Director at Valpo Parks said, “We are excited to bring bike sharing back to the community after a two-year hiatus when the original company was no longer able to offer their services. Thankfully, our extraordinary sponsors Urschel Laboratories and HealthLinc, along with the City of Valparaiso, share in Valpo Parks’ passion to provide non-motorized transportation to the residents and guests of the city. In addition, it has been a pleasure to work with Leo’s Mobile Bicycle Service to re-launch the program in 2022.” To access the bikes, riders need to download the Movatic app in the App Store or Google Play. A re-launch ribbon-cutting was held in downtown Valparaiso this past Friday. Here is a link for more information.
