In Valparaiso, Opportunity Enterprises will host their annual Celebration of Achievement award ceremony at Aberdeen Manor on June 23rd with doors opening at 8:00 am. The recognition breakfast features award presentations to individuals with disabilities in recognition of outstanding achievement and honoring outstanding volunteers, staff, and businesses for supporting individuals with disabilities. This year’s annual event is being hosted on the nonprofit’s 55th Birthday.
Individuals being honored and recognized recognized this year are:
Clients of the Year: Samantha Brobeck, Daily Living Skills; Michael Lain, Enriching Possibilities; Linda Long, Renewed Horizons; Jessica Kotvasz, Thrive; Matt Leuck-Myers, Residential; Patrick Kansoer, Social Enterprises; and Skyler Lang, JobSource.
Advocates of the Year: Sandy Bodnar & Cathy Greenawald, Jeanne Baird Volunteers of the Year; Teresa Torres, Jessica Wolfe Outstanding Direct Support Professional; Jane Kobak, Outstanding Staff Member; Continental, JobSource Partner; and UFS Corporation, Business of the Year.
“This is one of my favorite Opportunity Enterprises events,” states Neil Samahon, president and CEO. “Our Celebration of Achievement truly does highlight that Success is Within Everyone’s Reach, no matter the abilities of an individual. This event truly is mission-centric highlight to those who support our organization the true impact of their generosity. This year is even more special because our event is being held on the 55th Birthday of OE,” Samahon states further.
