Crew Carwash says its 15th annual Crew for Kids event raised over $201,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across Indiana and Minnesota. The Indiana-based family business partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for its 15th annual Crew for Kids fundraiser at all 48 Crew Carwash locations throughout the two states in July. In total, the company says it has raised more than $1.2 million for the nonprofit that matches kids with adult mentors since the inaugural Crew for Kids fundraiser in 2010.
“We are grateful for the sunny skies and generous customers who came to Crew Carwash in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters last weekend,” said Darcey Palmer-Shultz, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters BBBS of Central Indiana. “It’s so meaningful to us to have a partner equally committed to developing potential in our community, and we are so appreciative of every member of the Crew Carwash team for their effort and support. The funds raised from this event will directly support our work to connect more young people with mentors, expand our mentoring programs and collaborations to reach more youth, and provide impactful youth development and college and career readiness programming.”
Funds raised benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies that serve markets in which Crew has locations. The agencies to receive the proceeds from this fundraiser include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wabash Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities, Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Minnesota, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bartholomew County.
“We are thrilled to support their mission to create positive relationships through one-on-one mentoring” said Sally Grant, Executive Vice President of Crew Carwash. “We’ve witnessed first-hand the significant impact Big Brothers Big Sisters has on the youth in our community.”
